Possible New Hobby

So I really want to try something new, and a lot of my friends really enjoy yoga, so I thought maybe I should try it? After I graduate I will be moving back to the Lexington area, and I am thinking it would be a fun and healthy hobby to pick up. Has anyone done it? Did you enjoy it? Any places that you could recommend in the previous mentioned area would also be appreciated. I am hoping I can convince some friends, or my mom, to take it up with me!

Emily's Photos

Be sure to check out Emily's wedding pictures at Melanie's blog (or Emily's!). They are absolutely breathtaking! Emily is the ideal, picturesque, beautiful bride and Melanie does a wonderful job of capturing their bliss!

I simply can not wait for my internship with this fabulous, inspirational woman (Melanie Mauer!)!!

The Nibelungenlied

I am reading this book for mythology and it is actually quite interesting (I am taking a mini-break right now!). Has anyone read it? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts!

An Inspiring Idea

My friend Emily posted about this, and I was so excited that I immediately bought one for my mom! I already can't wait for it to get here!! I guess technically, you could just buy any journal and use this idea, but I got this one.

Post Secret

I found so many this time that I absolutely loved, that I HAD to post them all! Let me know what you think!

Brocade Love

So much that I want from brocade home. I can't wait to be an actual home owner one day, hopefully soon, so that I could get all of this wonderful stuff! My best friend Patti is getting married and December and she and her fiance just signed a contract on their house today! I am so excited for them (and I can't wait to help her decorate!)!
I found a new bed that I really like!
I have been really eyeing couches lately...not sure why, other than, in my opinion, couches are essential.

Be sure to always check out the sale section, I have found some really marvelous deals!

Ryan & Rachel

I absolutely adore this couple (who they were first saying were getting married in secret, and they are now saying they are broken up). I liked them both as actors when their careers began, therefore I really liked them together. I think I like them as a couple simply because they seem like they do their own thing and love each other regardless. Although, I guess if they are broken up, they are doing what makes them happy. So let me just say, I wish them the best in life!

Happy Earth Day

Since it is Earth Day, I propose that we all take some time at some point to think about in what ways we can help the earth, other than those we are currently practicing. I was thinking, I really want to switch to those new light bulbs. They save energy by lasting for several years (each type varies slightly). They sell some at Wal-mart, but you can get them just about anywhere right now. Environmental Defense can help you find the right bulb for the location in which you need it. I am still thinking about more things I can do.

Remember, our world matters, especially to the generations to come. We need to do what we can to ensure that it is still here even after we are gone.

Prayer

Everyone, please say a prayer for those who were lost and who have lost as a result of the Virginia Tech shootings. It is truly a sad time for all of us.

Terrible News

Most of you have probably heard by now about the shooting at Virginia Tech today. When I first heard the news, one was dead and 7-8 were injured. I couldn't believe it! The next I heard 22 were dead and about the same number were injured. As of right now 33 are dead (supposedly including the gunman). After I heard the news I was talking to the mom about what had happened, and she made a good point: "If nothing else, I hope this causes college campuses to improve their alarms and safety drills." This is all so sad. We have plenty of evil and violence in the world around us, we don't need to be attacking within our own country. How can we help others when we haven't helped ourselves?

Too Cute

These baby booties are completely adorable. They are cashmere and on sale at Etsy!

My Graduation Present List

A nice briefcase...Coach has some beautiful ones
This agenda by Coach is really nice too.

There are a lot of briefcases that I fell in love with on their site, so be sure to check it out if you are in the market for one! I know they have these items other places too, but I figured, if I am going to dream, might as well dream big, right?

Closets!

So I am obsessed and determined to have a neatly organized closet when I own a home. The container store, which I previously posted about, has some ways to help organize!

Which one do you all like better?

Graduation Presents

I am definitely one of those people who thinks ahead. Not necessarily "plans ahead", but I do think ahead. I have been thinking about possible present ideas for my friends who are graduating. Here is what I found...

I think these are soooo cool! They are like briefcases, but not.

How cute is this to hold business cards? So fun!

Both of these can be found at the Container Store.

Where the Wild Things Are

So I just read in my magazine that a "Where the Wild Things Are" movie is due out in 2008! I used to love this book growing up. One of my closest friends actually named her little boy after the main character, Max. I hope it turns out well on the big screen!

Home for Easter

So I came home for Easter weekend to see my family and I have loved every second of it! I miss my family so much when I am away at school, so it is always good to see them. I also got to go to Southland for an Easter service, which I really enjoyed! I think it is definitely good to go to church on Easter and Christmas, because it is a true reminder of why we celebrate on these days. Often times I think that message is forgotten, and church is a wonderful reminder (not that you shouldn't go to church on other days as well). I just wanted to wish everyone a very HAPPY EASTER and just try to take time during today to think about what Easter is all about!

Growing Ideas

Pangea Organics is a skincare company with a love for the environment. Although, I have yet to try any of these products, their ideas are inspiring. ALL of their product boxes are made using a new Zero Waste process with 100% post-consumer paper and organic seeds (like sweet basil and amaranth). You just slip off the label, soak the box in water for a minute and plant in the earth!!!

NEW BLOG NAME

Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom. She was often depicted as "owl-eyed" and "gray eyed". Athena's eyes were gray because she saw between the black and white; she saw the gray.

After learning about Athena in my mythology class, I was very intrigued. Probably because I have gray eyes myself, and I have often found them quite odd and weird.

Layla Grayce

Another wonderful site for clothing, gifts, home accessories and furniture is Layla Grayce. They have lots of fun different things!

imoi

I really like this site. It is a little pricey, but lots of cute stuff (be sure to check out the sale section)!

Etsy

Some cute, and some crazy, weird stuff...There is so much stuff to look through, but some of them are great finds! Check out Etsy if you have lots of time to pass!

pokkadots

This might just be the CUTEST site EVER for baby stuff! If you know someone who is expecting soon, shop HERE!

So cute!

This is something I would wear if it was made for adults, haha!

LOVE!

How crazy that this is a diaper bag?

I want it...

Wish I had a bed like this growing up.

I love it all! I must remember for the future when I have kids!

Gilmore Girls

I am such a nerdy little girl! I absolutely love the gilmore girls! I keep thinking I will "grow up" and not like it anymore, but the older I get, the more I believe that is not the case. It is such a great show...the sarcastic, witty, repartee is astounding.

Love

Love is strong yet delicate.
It can be broken.
To truly love is to understand this.
To be in love is to respect this.

- Stephen Packer -

When you love someone,
all your saved-up wishes start coming out.

- Elizabeth Bowen -

Love is not blind - It sees more and not less,
but because it sees more it is willing to see less.

- Will Moss -

Definition of love: Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness.

Those who know me well, know that I cherish my quote book. It is full of quotes about my thoughts, feelings, beliefs, etc. I figured, why not share some of my quotes with others? And what better way to kick it off with quotes about love; something extremely vital to life.

TOMS

So a friend reminded me of this wonderful item and its good cause a little while ago. I saw these shoes in a magazine and LOVED them, but forgot until a friend posted about them. The company is called "TOMS shoes" and they look so comfortable (and I WILL own a pair SOON!). Every time a shoe is purchased, a pair is donated to a child. Give them as gifts or buy a pair for yourself and be sure to tell everyone you know about them!

Hush

I really want this summer cardigan in cream from this website so much! Only problem, it is slightly expensive and I would have to pay international shipping as well! BUT, check out the website for lots of fun stuff that has received a lot of praise from magazines: Harpers, Vogue, Marie Claire, etc. I might have to breakdown and buy it soon!
