New Computer

I feel it is getting close to the time when I need a new computer. I am currently debating between a desktop and a laptop. I have a laptop now, and I really want another one, but they are so hard to update. I also think I want an apple. I have never owned one myself, but I have worked on them a lot at school. I really don't want to spend the money, but I feel mine slowly dying on me:(

Graduation Dress

So I am graduating in May!!!! YAY!! Therefore, I need a dress. I have found a few possibilities, but any ideas or suggestions are definitely welcome! Send them my way!

Spring Flowers

So yesterday was a somewhat stressful day for me: 3 midterms. On top of that, I couldn't sleep the night before because I was so worried about the tests ( I am quite the worrier). I was in class from 8-7ish last night (with short breaks in between), and when I finally got home for good there was this gorgeous bouquet of daffodils(one of my favorite spring flowers), starburst and a very sweet card from my wonderful boyfriend; it made my day!! Just a reminder that little things really can brighten some one's day!

(By the way, I would love to go see a field full of daffodils like this, so beautiful!)

Unique Present

A friend got one of these at her baby shower and I just thought it was soooo adorable (and probably really easy to make too!). I will be making one for my next friend to get pregnant (hopefully they aren't reading this, lol!). Just thought it might give you some different ideas for gifts! Let me know what you think!

My Next Car

So I probably won't be getting a new car until I am married and getting ready to have children (I don't think the VW beetle will have enough room for all that), but I think I have already found my car!! Perhaps my opinion might change before then, but for now I am wanting the Toyota Prius, which is a hybrid car. It starts at $22,175 and it gets 55MPG and I think they are pretty cute cars! Go build your own right here.

Monet

I have to write a paper for my art class and we get to pick the artist. At first, I wanted to write on someone I didn't know, but I couldn't resist, I am doing it on Monet!! I love Monet's pieces. If you ever get a chance to see one of his paintings in person, GO! It is remarkable how up close the brush strokes look like a mess of colors that a kid created, yet as you slowly move away the true image forms right before your eyes. Not only is this technique incredibly difficult, I also love what it symbolizes. When you are in the midst of a situation (where drama of some sort is involved) everything seems messy, confusing and frustrating, but when you step away from the problem at hand, you gain a whole new perspective that usually solves the problem. Enough rambling, just know that Monet is a genius.

Monet did a lot of paintings of water lilies.

This pond was his source of inspiration for all of those famous water lily paintings that you probably are familiar with.

Decorating Bug

These are all from the galleries at Dominomag (my favorite magazine!). I love it all!

When I eventually am a homeowner, I want an amazing garden to escape into.

I would love to have some sort of outside room like one of these, but that really probably will depend on where I end up living!

This one is fun and so simple. I love the built-in fire pit!

This looks so peaceful.

I am determined to have a pot rack in my kitchen.

I love the moldings, floors and tall windows....the building is amazing.

Again, loving the space and the light fixture (of course).

A chandelier in the kitchen, I LOVE IT!

beautiful tile

So the older I get the more I just want to get a house and go to town decorating it....I am lame! Haha!

Trip on the "Fun Ship"

Overall, I had a wonderful time with my family on our cruise! I love spending time with them and I got to do so many things that I had never done before: swim with dolphins, cave tubing and snorkeling! Although, Belize was by far my favorite and the most beautiful of our destinations.

Cruise Chaos

MIAMI, March 16 (AP) — A man who jumped from a cruise ship early Friday off Florida was rescued about eight hours later by the Coast Guard, officials said.

The man, Michael Mankamyer, 35, waved his arms at crews when he was found around 8:45 a.m., said Petty Officer Jennifer Johnson. Mr. Mankamyer was airlifted to a hospital, and the Coast Guard reported that he suffered from mild hypothermia but was otherwise in good condition.

The ship reported that Mr. Mankamyer had jumped from the balcony in his room and into the water around 12:45 a.m., a Coast Guard statement said.

A witness said Mr. Mankamyer was intoxicated, said Petty Officer Dana Warr.

Mr. Mankamyer was aboard the Carnival Glory, which operates out of Port Canaveral east of Orlando, according to the cruise company’s Web site.

After the cruise ship alerted the authorities about the incident, it stayed in the area to help with the search, Petty Officer Warr said.

“The time that they did spend was appreciated,” Petty Officer Warr said.

Petty Officer Warr said that ship and another cruise ship that helped in the search left the area before Mr. Mankamyer was found.

Vera Wang Goes to Mass Market

So I have forever been a fan of Vera Wang and her gorgeous bridal collections. I am excited to say that she is in the process of designing a line of clothing for Kohl's. I have never been the biggest Kohl's fan, but I venture to say that when these clothes hit stores I will have to swing by from time to time.

Fun Bath

I don't know that I would ever buy this bath, but it looks so different and unique. Kids would love it, that is for sure!!

Flowery Chandelier

It has been well established that I am absolutely obsessed with chandeliers, but I just found another amazing one and a fun site too.

Aqua Creations

This is probably one of the coolest interior decorating websites that I have been to. Aqua Creations is a really cool site to just look around and gain inspirations from if nothing else.

Career Stress

I am not sure why, but lately it has just hit me: I am graduating in May and I don't know where I am going work. In many ways, I was ahead of the game. I sent out cover letters and resumes in January, and I have emailed A LOT of people....but I am a worrier, it is what I do. Anyone else stressed? I really need this Spring Break cruise!! Good thing I leave Friday! YAY!

Our V-Day

Jeremiah and I finally celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday/last night. We went to the Melting Pot in Nashville!! So much fun! If you've never been, GO! I think there is one in Louisville, as well. A little expensive, but perfect for special occasions. I loved the atmosphere!

Ten Thousand Villages

If you have not heard of Ten Thousand Villages, you MUST check out their website (I also have it linked under my favorites). One of my fashion teachers told me about this store a couple years ago and I checked it out online the moment I got home. The concept of the company is brilliant. Their mission is to go over into countries and teach people a trade, then they buy the merchandise from these people (at a fair price that they agree on with the makers, practicing "fair trade") and sell it here in America. The idea is really smart, and these people are actually getting paid a wage that they deserve so that they may make a living for themselves.

I love both of these, but there are tons more I love as well. A lot of the items are things you would find at Pier1 and other stores like that. I encourage you to use this website for gifts and yourself! I love it.
