Spooky Halloween!!

So I am huge Halloween fan!!! My grandparents used to go all out and I am pretty sure that is why it is so dear to my heart. They used to have a stuffed witch in the basement and play this witch laughter and music (when I was little I thought it was real, and up until a few years ago, I thought for sure it was mechanical. Don't you miss having a child's imagination sometimes? I do!). One of the family members would be a fortune teller in the backyard. We would have to stick our hands in cooked spaghetti and grapes blindfolded as we dug around for prizes (obviously, your imagination really runs wild with that!). There were lots of games and we won prizes. It was like our own little Halloween festival, and I loved every bit of it. Especially considering we never lived in a neighborhood, so we had to go to her house to trick-or-treat.

So why do people think that this is dressing up for Halloween? Since when did lingerie and bunny ears mean "bunny"?? I am just not getting it...

I am pretty terrified that when I have kids, they'll be ditching the lingerie and wanting to go out in their birthday suits with bunny ears... scary enough?

Rachel & Ryan

So they broke up in April and it kind of bummed me out. Ryan said "We both went down swinging and called it a draw." He goes on to refer to her in his GQ interview as "one of the great loves" of his life. He then says "People do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in {in The Notebook}. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that." Really makes me want them to get back together!!!

New Crush

So the show Gossip Girl is really growing on me, and I like it more and more every week. Probably because their fashion is impeccable. Also, I have a major school girl crush on this guy.


His actual name is Penn Badgley and his character name is "Dan Humphrey". I probably mostly think he is cute because of his character on the show.


Ok, so all the guys are cute on the show. This is Ed Westwick or "Chuck" who is the jerk on the show.Chace Crawford is the other male character, "Nate". He is a little too pretty for me, but I am sure many think he is hot.

I have always loved Alanis Morissette's voice and music. I actually got into a silly debate a few says ago that involved her, and I now admit I was wrong about it. I absolutely LOVE this song. This song hasn't been released yet, but it is simply amazing. The video is horrible, so don't watch, just listen.

Most of you probably know about Boden, but I did not! I find it very similar to J Crew, and I want all of it!!

Free Puppies!!!

6 black lab puppies were found on the side of the road in Lexington, Kentucky last Friday. Every shelter in the area is full and has therefore turned them down. If they go to animal control, they said they have 5 days before they would be put down. If you know anyone who wants them please email danacomparetto@hotmail.com.

Places to Discover

I love to travel. If I could constantly travel discovering new places, it is safe to say that I would be immensely happy at all times. I am pretty sure that I am destined to be a travel writer, but I have no idea how to break into that profession...any ideas?



This amazing building was built for a wealthy family to live in!! It was modeled after a dragon. If you look closely, you can see it. The famous artist, Antoni Gaudi, was commissioned to design/build the Casa Batllo. If you are ever in Barcelona, Spain, I am thinking this should be a must-see for sure!

I Want!

I love love love the idea of reusable shopping bags. These from Baggu are $8 each and come in many colors: red, fuschia, khaki, olive, navy, black, grey and aqua!! Shipping is $3.50 no matter how many you buy, and they fold up and fit in a little pouch so that you may carry them around with you in your purse or pocket (depending on if you are a guy/girl). The only reason I haven't purchased some for myself yet is because I am scared that here in Kentucky, they will think I am stealing!! But, I am thinking I am going to have to try it soon with these!!
